Odds on Anthony Joshua beating Deontay Wilder

WBA and IBF world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is the well-fancied favourite at 2/5 in a title-unification clash with WBC world champion Deontay Wilder, according to Betway.

Wilder, who took his career record to 39-0 on Saturday night, quickly “declared war” on his heavyweight rival in his post-fight interview and has called on the Brit’s promoter Eddie Hearn to make the fight a reality in recent days.

However, at 7/4, the leading online bookmaker thinks ‘The Bronze Bomber’ is unlikely to inflict a first defeat of AJ’s professional career.

In what would be the most lucrative heavyweight showdown in recent years, Wembley has emerged as the most logical location to host the fight at 5/2.

The national stadium is touted for its second heavyweight blockbuster in as many years, whilst Twickenham and Old Trafford have been earmarked as possible venues at 8/1.

Joseph Parker heads betting of AJ’s next opponent

Anthony Joshua is 7/4 to meet Joseph Parker in his next fight following the news the WBO champion is being lined-up as AJ’s next opponent.

Negotiations for a fight have begun between both teams, and with Joshua-Wilder likely to wait until the summer of 2018, a bout against Parker in the spring looks to be edging closer.

However, Joshua may not be best pleased with Wilder’s continued verbal assaults, and he’s still 7/2 to be enticed into a bout with the trash-talking American next.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Despite a devastating KO win on Saturday night which took him to 39-0,  Wilder’s resume remains light. He does not have as significant a victory on his CV as Joshua recorded for his Klitschko epic, and we have AJ as 2/5 favourite to defeat Wilder.

“There’s no doubt the contest belongs in a stadium, and it’s 5/2 for AJ to fight at Wembley for the second time in his career in a showdown with the Bronze Bomber.

“With that fight set for a summer date, AJ is likely to fight in between, and WBO champion Joseph Parker has emerged as 7/4 favourite to step into the ring with the Brit next.”
