Are there things you learned from Jorge Linares?
Even watching him, he’s so skilful. He’s been with [Ismael] Salas for over three years now, hopefully myself being with Salas for that amount of time I’ll keep improving and hopefully I’ll come close to his level… That’s the plan!
He’s an animal in camp. He’s scary, close to fight week, he gets real serious. He’s ready to rip someone apart.
Have you been doing bits with David Haye?
You’ve obviously seen the shadow sparring, moving around. He’s looking really good in training.
He gets quite hands on, he’s mentoring me a bit. He’s keen to see me improve and give me advice. We’re talking about everyday things, or stuff to do with boxing, he’ll watch sparring and give me tips on sparring. For the [Ian] Lewison fight I could hear him talking me through the whole bout. It’s really good to have him be in my corner.

You’ve made it clear you want to fight Dereck Chisora, but are you waiting to see if that will happen?
I’m waiting to see if that comes to fruition, if he accepts the offer. If he has a real desire to fight me.
I think it’d be a real entertaining one, especially when he fought Dillian, it’ll be something similar. I think it’ll be a great fight anyway. Chisora will be game and swinging bombs. He’s a busy fighter.
You’ve sparred Tyson Fury, how do you think he’ll do in his comeback?
Especially looking at footage of him doing pads, he’s looking really quick and slick and that’s what he is. It would be a nightmare to spar him when he’s in good shape. Because he’s a nightmare to spar even when he’s 25 stone out of shape.
What’s your prediction for Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker?
It has potential to be tough fight. It might go seven, eight rounds. You never know with Joshua. He might just wing him in the first round. But I think Parker’s tough and strong, obviously he’s won a world title so he must be half decent. He’s a young heavyweight and he’s not going to give up his title easily. He’s going to come game and prepared and could give Joshua problems.
